Theo Steindal proved unstoppable at Sarno during the third round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship. At the Circuito Internazionale di Napoli, the young MP Academy Gamoto driver, competing under the wing of the WYDA (World Young Drivers Program), was one of the standout performers throughout the entire weekend.

After dominating almost every heat session, he secured a podium finish in Sunday’s final, allowing him to climb to sixth place in the Mini GR.3 standings, just a handful of points behind fifth position and 48 points off the championship lead with two rounds still remaining.

The positive feelings that had emerged from qualifying quickly turned into certainty. After setting the fourth fastest time in his group, just 0.17 seconds shy of pole position, the Norwegian driver began his charge by immediately showcasing outstanding pace.

Steindal continued his impressive weekend by finishing third in the first qualifying heat before asserting his authority in the following two heats, which he won convincingly.

His unquestionable superiority was further confirmed on Sunday morning with the fastest lap in the warm-up session and victory in the pre-final.Starting the final from pole position, the WYDA-supported driver fought until the very end, eventually securing the third step of the podium after a battle of the highest level.

It was an important result which, while not fully reflecting everything he had shown during the previous stages of the weekend, nevertheless rewarded a campaign spent consistently at the front of the field.Beyond the podium finish, what emerged most strongly from the Sarno weekend was the overall growth of the young Norwegian driver.

Alongside the remarkable speed that has always been one of his most evident qualities, Theo is now demonstrating greater consistency, improved management of the different phases of the race weekend and increasing maturity on track, all the result of the daily work carried out together with MP Academy Gamoto and WYDA.

The next stop for the Italian ACI Karting Championship will be at the end of July at the Val Vibrata circuit.
