Theo Steindal delivered an outstanding performance at the Val Vibrata circuit during the latest round of the ACI Italian Karting Championship, held last weekend.
The young Norwegian driver from MP Academy Gamoto, competing with the support of the WYDA (World Young Drivers Academy), was immediately the fastest in his qualifying group and the second quickest overall.
In the opening heat, after starting from pole position, he dropped three places to finish fourth. He quickly bounced back by dominating the second heat, once again starting from pole and setting the fastest lap. He then repeated the feat in the final heat, starting from pole position and securing another victory.
At the end of the heats, Steindal topped the overall classification among the 58 drivers entered. Unfortunately, in the prefinal he made an uncharacteristically poor start, was swallowed up by the pack, and had to fight his way back to a respectable sixth-place finish.
Starting the final from the front row, Steindal was involved in an incident during the opening laps and dropped to 28th place, bringing to an end a weekend that had begun in outstanding fashion and once again highlighted the remarkable progress he has been making.
