Fernando Visuet endured a challenging weekend at Viterbo in the final round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship.
The Mexican MP Academy Gamoto driver, competing in the OK-N category with the support of WYDA (World Young Drivers Academy), saw his weekend compromised by a qualifying session in which he was unable to maximise his performance, ultimately affecting his starting positions for the heats.
On a track where overtaking is particularly difficult, Visuet often managed to work his way into the leading group despite starting further back. He produced a couple of strong recovery drives, but these were not enough to secure a place in the final.
The Viterbo round nevertheless gave him the opportunity to become more familiar with the circuit ahead of the FIA OK-N World Cup, scheduled for 8–11 October in a couple of weeks’ time. The Mexican is currently undertaking an intensive testing programme at the same venue.
