Theo Steindal joins WYDA programme

Manerba del Garda, 25 March 2026. World Young Drivers Academy (WYDA) is pleased to announce the addition of Theo Steindal to its driver development programme. The young Norwegian driver, who will turn eleven in July and currently competes in the Mini GR.3 with MP Academy Gamoto, will be supported by WYDA through a structured pathway covering management as well as technical, physical and mental preparation.

The main goal is to guide him within a comprehensive and progressive development project, designed to nurture his talent in international karting while laying solid foundations for a future step into professional motorsport.

Theo began his racing career at a very early age, first stepping into a kart at six years old. Already in the following season, he contested his first races in the Latvian Rotax Micro Championship. At the age of eight, he competed in several events in Norway, securing his maiden victory in the IAME Cadet category.

Throughout 2025, he gained international experience racing in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belgium and Germany, before moving to Italy to compete in Rotax Micro and later making his debut in Rotax Mini towards the end of the season, where he claimed multiple wins. In parallel, he began his progression within the Italian karting scene, taking part in the Moster K, the WSK Series and the Italian ACI Karting Championship.

At the start of this season, Theo joined MP Academy Gamoto, continuing his development in a highly competitive environment. In the Italian Championship, he has already achieved a best result of fourth place, ahead of the fifth and final round of the WSK Super Master Series, held last weekend at Franciacorta, when he secured a notable third place stepping onto the podium in one of the most competitive series in international karting.

We have identified Theo as a driver with significant potential, possessing very interesting qualities and considerable room for growth,” said Paolo Montera, General Manager of WYDA. “Our aim is to support him with method, vision and consistency, providing a complete framework across sporting, technical and personal aspects.

With the addition of Theo Steindal, World Young Drivers Academy further strengthens its mission: to identify young talents, support them through a multidisciplinary approach, and build for each of them a credible, ambitious and sustainable pathway from karting to the highest levels of international motorsport.

Steindal fully represents the profile of a young driver in whom to invest in terms of development and long-term potential — a talent to be nurtured with care, expertise and vision, with the goal of turning promise into tangible results over the medium and long term.
