Fernando Visuet has completed his first laps in a single-seater, enjoying a productive test programme last week at the Cremona Circuit before moving on to Cervesina, where he continued running and secured his racing licence.

The young Mexican, supported by WYDA (World Young Drivers Academy) and currently competing in an intensive karting programme in the OK-N category with MP Academy Gamoto, got behind the wheel of Petri Corse’s Tatuus Formula 4 car, immediately feeling at ease.

For Visuet, this marked his first outing in a single-seater, part of a well-structured preparation programme aimed at his car racing debut. After running on Tuesday, 28 April at Cremona, he returned to the track the following day at Cervesina. Across the two days, Visuet completed a total of 533 kilometres, equivalent to around 121 laps.

The 15-year-old quickly built confidence with the car, steadily improving his lap times and showing promising pace. His only mistake came in the final session, when he spun just as he began to push harder.

Fernando exceeded all expectations, especially considering this was his absolute debut,” said WYDA General Manager Paolo Montera. “He listens carefully and applies the team’s and coach’s feedback. Under the guidance of our coach Riccardo Azzoli, who worked with him on the first of the two days before he obtained his licence the following day, he made the most of this test.”

Having recently returned to Mexico City to fulfil school commitments, Visuet is set to be back on track in Formula 4 at the beginning of June.
