Lonato del Garda, 12 March 2026. Fernando Visuet’s 2026 season gets underway this weekend with the Trofeo Andrea Margutti. After a short break caused by a rib injury that kept him away from the track, the young Mexican driver is now ready to pick up where he left off a few months ago.
Following a 2025 season that undoubtedly helped him gain valuable experience, Visuet is now aiming higher as he takes on a new challenge with team Gamoto, the same squad that supported him during his European debut last year.
The season ahead will also mark several important changes. The Mexico City-born driver (born in 2011) will race under the colours and management of WYDA, while stepping up to the OKN category with the goal of preparing for his future move to single-seaters and ultimately Formula 4.
Last season Visuet competed in the Italian Championship, showing steady improvement in performance and progressively fighting for top positions, while also making his mark in the WSK series. Among his most notable results was an excellent qualifying performance at the World Cup, where he proved to be both fast and competitive on a highly demanding international stage.
“The 2025 season was very important for me because it was characterised by constant progress that allowed me to achieve several significant results. After a year of hard work and development, towards the end of the season I was definitely able to fight for positions at the front, as I showed at the World Cup,” explained Fernando.
“This year, with the move to the OKN category and after the rib issue I experienced, my aim is to quickly regain the right rhythm and get back to fighting for top positions. My goal during the season is also to complete some Formula 4 tests, both on track and in the simulator, in order to start preparing for the next phase of a well-structured programme that I have planned together with WYDA and which is focused on the future,” added the 14-year-old Mexican driver, now fully focused on the Andrea Margutti Trophy, which gets underway today.
