Theo Steindal shows outstanding pace at Cremona in the IAME Italy Series
Theo Steindal delivered another impressive performance at the Cremona Circuit during the latest round of the IAME Italy Series. The young Norwegian driver, who celebrated his 11th birthday last Thursday, confirmed his excellent form following his podium finish in the latest round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship held at Sarno at the end of June.
Racing for MP Academy Gamoto with the full support of the World Young Drivers Academy (WYDA), Steindal immediately showed his speed in the free practice sessions, setting the second-fastest time in the X30 Mini category, just nine thousandths of a second off the top spot.
The Norwegian continued his strong performance in the opening heat, finishing sixth after gaining six positions. Unfortunately, a less-than-ideal qualifying session, in which he ended up 12th, together with an incident that forced him to retire from the second heat, compromised his overall result.
Steindal nevertheless produced another remarkable recovery in the Final. Starting from 13th on the grid, he fought his way through the field to finish seventh, once again gaining six positions and confirming both his speed and his determination.
