Theo Steindal once again proved to be one of the leading contenders at the La Conca circuit in Muro Leccese during the second round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship, held over the weekend.
The young MP Academy Gamoto driver secured a place in the Mini Gr.3 U10 Final, where he eventually finished 14th. Despite the final result, the weekend can be considered a positive one, given the pace he consistently demonstrated throughout the event.
Starting from the seventh row of the grid, the Norwegian driver competing under the colours of WYDA (World Young Drivers Academy) did everything possible to move forward through the field. There is no doubt that, with a better starting position, he would have had a realistic chance of fighting for a podium finish.
Unfortunately, Steindal’s hopes were compromised in the Prefinal when he was innocently caught up in an incident with Adam Pirvu, who later apologised for the contact.
The setback relegated him to ninth place and ultimately prevented him from securing a stronger grid position for the Final, despite having achieved a best result of seventh in the qualifying heats.
Steindal’s next outing in the Italian ACI Karting Championship will take place at Sarno during the final weekend of June.
