The Cremona round of the WSK Euro Series, held last weekend, ended with Theo Steindal finishing 12th in the Final.
While that was the official result for the young Norwegian talent, supported by the World Young Drivers Academy (WYDA) and representing MP Academy Gamoto, it hardly reflects the level of competitiveness he demonstrated throughout the entire weekend.
Steindal once again proved that he possesses front-running pace, establishing himself as one of the leading contenders in the Mini Gr.3 category from the very beginning. In qualifying, he delivered an outstanding performance by securing third place in his group and narrowly missing the fastest overall time by just one tenth of a second.
Theo also showed throughout the heat races that he had the pace to consistently fight at the front, finishing third in one heat and fifth in another. Those performances further highlighted both his potential and the quality of the work carried out together with the team.
However, the weekend was heavily influenced by a series of incidents that ultimately compromised the final result. Contact in the opening heat, followed by a penalty in the Prefinal, forced the young Norwegian to start the Final from 18th on the grid. Despite this setback, Steindal produced an impressive recovery drive, gaining six positions to finish 12th while consistently posting some of the fastest lap times in the field.
From WYDA’s perspective, the overall assessment of the weekend remains highly positive. Beyond the final classification, the Cremona event provided extremely encouraging indications. Theo’s performances once again confirmed the effectiveness of the development programme undertaken together with the World Young Drivers Academy. Talent, methodology and consistency remain the key foundations on which to continue building the young Norwegian driver’s sporting future.
With the Cremona weekend now behind him, Theo will immediately turn his attention to Val Vibrata, where he will take part in the official Italian ACI Karting Championship tests from 17 to 19 July. These sessions will represent an important step in preparation for the fourth round of the Italian Championship, scheduled to take place at the same circuit from 23 to 26 July.
